After months of hard work, I am proud to share that the ZERϴ Network mainnet is live!
ZERϴ Network will offer users a way to transact without paying any gas fees, overcoming one of the most obvious and frustrating barriers that users experience onchain.
Combined with ZERϴ Network, Zerion becomes far more than just a wallet by removing gas fees from the equation. Without gas to worry about, users can focus on what they want to do onchain instead of figuring out how to do it.
This gas free future is already here. Beginning today, Zerion Wallet users will be able to trade, mint and bridge on ZERϴ without paying transaction fees.
Why ZERϴ Network?
This milestone has been years in the making.
When we launched our first product, Zerion’s portfolio tracker, our goal was simple: help users understand and manage their crypto portfolios.
A desire to make crypto more accessible and easier to use has underpinned all our products:
- 2019: Portfolio tracking app to view all tokens, DeFi, and NFTs
- 2022: Mobile wallet to swap, mint, and transact on the go
- 2023: Browser extension to make multichain crypto simple
Our relentless focus on user experience has attracted more than 1.6M wallets over the last five years. One user recently told me, “Zerion is as good as a wallet can be."
Although hearing this was exciting and humbling, we realized that to succeed in our mission truly, we needed to go beyond the wallet to address the persistent user experience challenges that can only be solved by a layer 2 network.
With ZERϴ, we want to make gas fees a thing of the past.
Crypto Without the Gassle
We believe it should be free to transact onchain. Imagine asking users to pay for your AWS servers every time they use your app.
When you make transactions on ZERϴ in Zerion Wallet, you will not pay for gas at all. This is made possible by the combination of the native account abstraction provided by the ZK Stack and our own custom paymaster.

However, gas fees have historically served an important role: preventing network abuse. While L2s lowered gas costs, the volume of spam increased. For example, as of November 2024, over 60% of swaps on Uniswap on Base have a value under $1.
To truly solve the gas problem, we need to eliminate costs for real people while fighting spam.
Our solution is called Onchain DNA.
Onchain DNA removes transaction fees on ZERϴ for real people instead of rewarding bots and spammers. With this built-in Sybil defense, ZERϴ checks every address' past transaction history to see if it’s eligible for free transactions.
By ensuring that we prioritize the right users, ZERϴ becomes the only network inhabited by real people.
