Tokenized equities are no longer an experiment. Reuters reported that the SEC approved Nasdaq’s proposal to trade stocks in tokenized form, while NYSE parent is developing a platform for tokenized securities. Major exchanges are making concrete moves to bring stocks onchain.
For crypto users, tokenized stocks already offer a way to access equity through a self-custodial wallet. But choosing a platform means looking beyond tickers. This guide compares the leading tokenized stock platforms in 2026 and explains how to track and trade their tokenized stocks.
What are tokenized stocks?
Tokenized stocks or tokenized equities are tokens that represent company shares or economic exposure to them.
Unlike with traditional stocks that stay in your brokerage account, with tokenized stocks you can:
- Hold them in your crypto wallet and move them freely
- Trade outside the normal stock exchange hours
- Use them in DeFi such as lending, staking, providing liquidity in pools
There are two main types of tokenized stocks:
- Backed product, where a provider holds securities with a custodian and issues corresponding tokens. Some might even register actual shareholder ownership onchain.
- Synthetic products track prices through contracts rather than holding a matching share.
However, regardless of the model, these tokens do not necessarily give you voting rights, direct ownership, or unrestricted redemption. You should always read the terms to understand what they are. Our guide to real-world assets explains the broader category.
How we ranked tokenized stock platforms
When putting together this guide, we looked at the following factors:
- Trading activity
- Onchain holders
- Distribution across exchanges, wallets, and DEXs
- Chain coverage and DeFi use
- Asset coverage
- Assets under management
Providers report different periods and definitions; comparable holder and trading data are incomplete. Transaction volume can include minting and redemption, while transfers are not necessarily trades. We do not claim a statistically proven “most-traded” or “most widely held” winner.
“Platform” mainly refers to the broader product brand, not an exchange venue. However, some of the platforms also offer trading.

The 10 best tokenized stock platforms
1. xStocks: best overall for onchain access
xStocks is a stock-token product issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited in Jersey, with underlying securities held in regulated custody. It gives you stock and ETF exposure through exchanges and self-custody wallets.
The appeal is practical: you can buy through Kraken or Bybit, hold tokens on supported networks, and use integrations such as Jupiter. DeFi support depends on the particular asset and protocol.
Its site advertises 1,100 stocks and ETFs and $40 billion-plus in transaction volume. An earlier Kraken milestone report recorded $25 billion in total transactions, including $3.5 billion in onchain activity, and more than 80,000 onchain holders. Those are historical figures, not the latest data.
- Strengths: Broad distribution, self-custody, and integrations for trading and collateral.
- Limits: Unavailable to US persons and in other restricted markets.
- Best for: Eligible users who want stock exposure alongside their existing crypto portfolio.
You can trade and track supported xStocks in Zerion, including balances, transaction history, and PnL. Check the issuer’s contract address and the live quote before swapping.
2. Ondo Stocks: best for scale and minting access
Ondo Stocks, formerly Ondo Global Markets, offers stock- and ETF-linked tokens on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana through Ondo Global Markets (BVI) Limited. Securities and cash held with US broker-dealers secure the products.
- Strengths: Broad catalogue and direct minting and redemption for onboarded, eligible users.
- Limits: Non-US access; holding a token alone does not qualify you for direct redemption.
- Best for: Users who prioritize asset breadth and access to underlying-market liquidity.
3. bStocks: best for Binance users
bStocks are stock-linked certificates issued by Binance affiliate BTECH Holdings Ltd, backed by securities in custody and deployed on BNB Smart Chain. Binance says the products were admitted to the ADGM FSRA Official List following prospectus approval.
The Binance launch announcement describes 1:1 conversion between supported stock holdings and bStocks. RWA.xyz lists 80 assets and $763.1 million in tracked value.
- Strengths: Access through Binance and conversion between supported forms of the holding.
- Limits: Jurisdiction and account restrictions; certificates do not themselves give direct ownership of the underlying company’s shares.
- Best for: Eligible Binance customers adding stock-token exposure to an existing account.
4. Robinhood Stock Tokens: best for Robinhood Chain
Robinhood Stock Tokens are debt securities issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited, backed by underlying shares and available through the Robinhood Chain ecosystem.
The current catalogue includes 190-plus tokens, with support for self-custody wallets and applications on Robinhood Chain.
- Strengths: Wallet access, stock and ETF exposure, and integrations on Robinhood Chain.
- Limits: US and other geographic exclusions; holders do not gain legal or beneficial rights in the underlying companies.
- Best for: Eligible users already active on Robinhood Chain.
Dividends increase a multiplier after reinvestment, so the share exposure represented by each token can grow without a cash payment.
5. Coinbase Tokenized Stocks: best for Base users
Coinbase Tokenized Stocks are B20 tokens on Base, backed 1:1 by shares held in a bankruptcy-remote custody structure. Coinbase describes its issuer as authorized by the Abu Dhabi Global Market’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority.
The Base launch brought the product into self-custody and DeFi. Coinbase’s page links four stock prospectuses: Apple, Alphabet, Meta, and NVIDIA.
- Strengths: A beneficial claim on backing shares and compatibility with Base applications.
- Limits: Restricted to eligible non-US users; primary minting and redemption are reserved for onboarded institutional partners and authorized participants.
- Best for: Users building a stock-token portfolio within Base.
A corporate-action multiplier reflects reinvested dividends and splits while the raw token balance stays unchanged.
6. Dinari: best for apps offering stock access
Dinari provides dShares backed by custodied securities, with a US brokerage route operated by SEC-registered, FINRA-member Dinari Securities LLC. Its network support includes Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, HyperEVM, HyperCore, and Plume.
Dinari’s US launch announcement describes 724 available tokenized stocks. Fintechs and wallets can integrate its infrastructure instead of building brokerage operations themselves.
- Strengths: Distribution APIs, custody, order handling, and corporate-action processing.
- Limits: Product rules differ by jurisdiction. US documentation restricts token transfers and DeFi usage.
- Best for: Builders adding equities to an app, including eligible US customer flows.
Do not assume an international dShare and a US brokerage representation have identical permissions.
7. Securitize: best for issuer-sponsored shares
Securitize supplies regulated infrastructure for companies to put their own shares onchain. The company issuing the equity remains the stock issuer; Securitize handles tokenization and transfer-agent functions.
Its Currenc rollout uses Ethereum and Solana, while SECZ launched on Avalanche and Solana. RWA.xyz tracks three stock assets under Securitize.
- Strengths: Issuer participation and shareholder records connected to the token.
- Limits: A selective equity catalogue; onboarding and transfer permissions are security-specific.
- Best for: Companies tokenizing equity and investors seeking issuer-sponsored shares.
Its fund-tokenization business is broader, but fund AUM should not be presented as tokenized-stock AUM.
8. Superstate Opening Bell: best for direct share tokenization
Opening Bell is Superstate’s platform for company-issued shares on Ethereum and Solana, supported by its SEC-registered transfer agent. It maintains shareholder records as shares move into tokenized form.
Galaxy’s GLXY shares provide a concrete example on Solana. These are the company’s Class A common shares, with Superstate acting as digital transfer agent.
- Strengths: Direct share ownership and support for corporate actions.
- Limits: Identity-verified wallets, transfer controls, and supported applications; access depends on the issuer.
- Best for: Existing shareholders and public companies evaluating an onchain share register.
Opening Bell supports two named networks, but each company determines where its own shares are available.
9. Figure OPEN: best for blockchain-native equity trading
Figure OPEN is an equity issuance and trading network on Provenance, including an alternative trading system operated by FINRA/SIPC-member Figure Securities.
Figure has issued its own blockchain-native stock, FGRS. BitGo confirmed completed trades on the network, and RWA.xyz tracks one Figure stock asset.
- Strengths: A working route for issuing, trading, and settling equity on a public blockchain.
- Limits: A narrow stock selection and venue-specific onboarding.
- Best for: Investors and issuers exploring a regulated, blockchain-native market.
Its place here reflects a different ownership model, rather than a large catalogue of tokenized third-party stocks.
Where to buy tokenized stocks
Start with your location and the product’s eligibility rules. Then choose an access route:
- Exchange: Kraken and Bybit offer xStocks; Binance offers bStocks where supported.
- Wallet or DEX: Use supported markets for xStocks, Ondo Stocks, Coinbase tokens, or Robinhood Stock Tokens.
- App or regulated venue: Consider Fasset, Dinari-powered services, or issuer-sponsored platforms where you qualify.
Check the token’s issuer, network, contract address, spread, fees, and redemption conditions. A matching ticker does not make two issuers’ tokens interchangeable.
Zerion lets you track supported tokenized stocks alongside crypto. If you are starting on Solana, see the Solana portfolio guide.
Tracking and trading tokenized stocks
With Zerion Wallet, you can track and trade tokenized stocks across all major EVM chains and Solana. See all your tokenized stocks alongside the rest of your crypto portfolio, with balances, prices, transaction history, and PnL in one place. Then buy any tokenized stock with the best price and some of the lowest fees.
With Zerion CLI, you can do the same from your terminal or through an AI agent like Claude Code or Codex. Check your positions, review past trades, and swap into or out of tokenized stocks.
For developers: tokenized stock data via API
If you’re building an app or other product with tokenized stocks, you need a source of onchain data for positions and transactions.
Zerion API returns supported xStock and other tokenized-equity positions, prices, and transaction history across supported chains. That gives wallets, portfolio trackers, and other apps one data interface for tokenized stocks alongside the rest of crypto.
Zerion’s RWA classification adds asset_class to fungibles and positions, including tokenized_stock for equities and tokenized ETFs. Classification is a paid add-on, enabled per organization, and coverage is not exhaustive.
For example, an enabled organization can request:
GET /v1/fungibles/?filter[asset_class]=tokenized_stock&filter[implementation_chain_id]=solanaUse the wallet positions endpoint for holdings, and create free API keys to test the underlying wallet-data integration.
FAQ
Are tokenized stocks backed by real shares?
Many are backed by custodied shares, including xStocks, bStocks, and Coinbase Tokenized Stocks. Backing does not automatically confer direct shareholder rights. Read the product terms to distinguish a debt security, a beneficial claim, and an issuer-sponsored share. Synthetic products may follow a different model.
Is it safe to buy tokenized stocks?
Tokenized stocks carry both investment and operational risk. Share prices can fall, and you also rely on custody, issuer terms, smart contracts, and available liquidity. Check who holds the backing, what happens if the issuer fails, and whether you can redeem or sell when needed.
Are tokenized stocks legal? Can US residents buy them?
Availability depends on the product and jurisdiction. xStocks, Ondo Stocks, Coinbase Tokenized Stocks, and Robinhood Stock Tokens exclude US users. Dinari documents a separate US brokerage route, and some issuer-sponsored shares admit eligible US investors. A token’s technical transferability does not override eligibility rules.
Do tokenized stocks pay dividends?
Dividend treatment depends on the product. Some distribute payments; others reinvest dividends and adjust token balances or a share multiplier. Coinbase and Robinhood describe multiplier models. Check withholding, fees, and corporate-action terms before assuming you will receive cash or see your token count rise.
Tokenized stocks vs ETFs vs CFDs, what’s the difference?
A stock gives exposure to one company. An ETF holds a portfolio or follows an investment strategy. Either can have a tokenized representation. A CFD is a contract with a provider that settles price differences. Tokenization describes the format. Ownership and counterparty rights come from the product’s legal structure.
