How Kraken, Rainbow, Backpack and Infinex transformed Wallet data with Zerion API

Kraken is one of the oldest and most trusted cryptocurrency exchanges, founded in 2011. It offers a wide range of digital assets for trading, advanced tools for pro users, and strong security features. Kraken serves both individual traders and institutions across the globe.
Challenge
Kraken built a self-custody wallet to help its users connect to the decentralized web. They needed a simple way to show users’ tokens with price charts and other data. They also needed to show users’ transaction history across the Ethereum mainnet, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, and Blast. Given the size of their user base, they needed to ensure reliability at scale without running their infrastructure.
Solution
Kraken chose Zerion API, using a single call to fetch all token positions and transactions across Ethereum and their required Layer-2 networks. Another Zerion’s endpoint added charts for any token from these chains. While Zerion handles the data infrastructure, Kraken focused on providing simple, safe, and private self-custodial experience to its users.
