How El Dorado Launched Real-Time Payment Notifications on Tempo with Zerion API Webhooks
TL;DR: El Dorado built its business app on Tempo, where stablecoins settle at 100,000+ TPS with sub-second finality. Under a tight launch timeline, the team used Zerion API webhooks to push interpreted transaction data to its backend the moment money moves.
El Dorado was racing to launch its business app on Tempo when it hit a common challenge. It needed reliable, real-time notifications for onchain payments. Instead of building and running additional infrastructure, the team integrated Zerion API webhooks. They shipped real-time transaction notifications into production without operating any backend server infrastructure.
What is El Dorado?
El Dorado is a financial super-app built in and for Latin America, serving both consumers and businesses.
Most of its users aren't crypto-native. They are people who need remittances, cross-border payments, savings, and invoice payments across Latin America. The app has more than a million registered users and has processed over 5 million transactions across 12 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, and Ecuador.
In 2026, El Dorado raised a $9 million Series A led by Paradigm, with Coinbase Ventures and Verda Ventures participating.
Congrats to @eldoradoio on their $9M Series A.@eldoradoio was started to fix one thing: moving money across borders should be as easy as sending a message.

El Dorado Business, their new B2B app built on @tempo, runs on real-time webhooks powered by @zerion API. https://t.co/m1dlAZDnK1
That funding backs El Dorado Business, a B2B account that gives companies a US bank account number without a US LLC, a multi-sig treasury, and combined fiat and stablecoin rails. More than 100 corporate clients have joined, using it for cross-border trade flows like electric vehicle imports from China.
The challenge: real-time payments under a launch deadline
El Dorado Business runs on Tempo, the payments-first Layer 1 incubated by Paradigm and Stripe. Tempo is fast (100,000+ TPS with sub-second finality), and its gas fees are paid directly in stablecoins.
A payments product needs to react the instant a deposit lands. Confirm the payment, update the customer's balance, and surface it in the app. With a launch date approaching, El Dorado didn't want to spend that time standing up onchain data infrastructure:
- Polling the chain means querying for new activity across every customer address, around the clock, while still risking lag or missed transactions.
- Running indexers at Tempo's throughput is expensive and complex. It’s undifferentiated work that competes with shipping payment features.
The team didn’t want to handle the complexity of building additional infrastructure in-house. They needed real-time transaction notifications and a data provider that was already live on Tempo.
The solution: Zerion API webhooks
Zerion API has supported Tempo since its launch, with the same endpoints developers use across EVM chains and Solana.
That meant El Dorado could integrate immediately, without waiting on a provider to add chain support.
The setup is a single webhook subscription:
- El Dorado specifies the addresses to watch and a callback URL
- From then on, whenever one of those addresses transacts, Zerion API sends a POST request with the full, parsed transaction details to El Dorado's backend.
No polling. No indexers. No 24/7 monitoring infrastructure.
That webhook turns onchain settlement into an event El Dorado's systems can act on right away:
- Confirm deposits the moment funds arrive on Tempo.
- Update balances in the app without waiting on a polling cycle.
- Trigger downstream workflows tied to incoming payments.
Because Zerion API uses one unified schema across 40+ chains, the same integration extends to every other chain El Dorado supports without any per-chain rewiring.
"The Zerion team is deeply technical and great to work with. They ship reliable, well-documented infrastructure and move fast when it matters, which is exactly what you want from a partner you’re building on top of" said Juan CTO of El Dorado.
The results
El Dorado integrated Zerion webhooks quickly during its launch push, and they've run cleanly in production with no issues since deployment. Deposits and transfers surface as they settle. It’s exactly what a cross-border payments product depends on.
Just as important, the team spent its launch window on its core payments features instead of operating indexers.
